What Makes it Family Worthy?

This centrally located building with 306 rooms is less than 10-minute drive away from Legoland, Sea World, and the San Diego Zoo which are all family favorites.
The property is within walking distance of Seaport Village and Horton Plaza as well as multiple stores and food venues.
Guests will additionally be happy to learn that one child can stay free with paying adults if they are using the pre-existing beds in their suite.

Fellow Travelers

Groups that are traveling together and couples make up the majority of guests at this establishment.
However, there are also some families, and business travelers choose to stay here because of its central location and proximity to the city’s port and airport.

Décor

Most of the building is decorated in a modern style with warm neutral colors used throughout the hotel. Patrons feel welcome from the minute they walk in, with comfortable couches in the large lobby to the water taffy sweets handed out by friendly staff.

Rooms

My family stayed in the spotlessly clean room 2000 for the duration of our visit.
As one entered the suite, they would first encounter a series of two closets. These spacious storage areas contained the in room safe, bathrobes, iron, and ironing board. The large shelf above the clothes rack in each helped hold some additional personal belongings.
Travelers with even more luggage could also use the small foldout luggage rack in the room to hold some of their bags.

Our bedroom area had two full beds, each with fat, fluffy pillows. There were colorful throw blankets on each of the beds, patterned carpets, and framed pictures on the walls, all of which help add some character to the room. There was a moderately sized nightstand in between the beds with a phone,  alarm clock, and a bedside lamp on top.

A large television was located in a chest of drawers across from the sleeping area and allowed us to watch our favorite programs while lying on the beds.
Our son was especially happy to learn that the numerous channels provided by the hotel included Nickelodeon, which is his favorite.
Two small lamps had been situated on top of the granite-topped cabinet to provide extra illumination and one of the drawers in the television cabinet also contained a mini fridge that we put to good use.

The bathroom directly across from the closets was decorated in black and white hues, but it also included lovely tile floor embellishments in a Greek key pattern. It contained the usual components such as a small sink, a toilet, and a bath area with a combination shower and tub.
The suite’s coffee maker and some drinking mugs could also be found in this space. We loved the hard candy sugar pops that were supplied.

Under the sink were dark wooden cabinets that contained plenty of towels. This was a nice touch because it made these necessary items much easier to access than usual. After all, high towel racks are commonly found in many hotel rooms and can be difficult to reach at the best of times.
Aside from the usual bathroom toiletries, the hotel provides body lotion, mouthwash, and shower caps on a shelf above the sink.

Much to our surprise, the corner room also contained a sizeable work or living space that was located slightly off the main room.
This area contained a work desk with a long table and a few drawers and comfortable rolling chair. A phone and a lamp decorated the desktop. There was also a three-tiered coffee table, a floor lamp, and a sitting chair located next to the workspace which would make the spot ideal for enjoying a snack or quick meal.

Tips

Look to book a rate that includes valet parking since the hotel is situated on a one way street with a small almost invisible driveway that might be hard to maneuver for some.
If you are a sports fan, ask for a room that overviews the ballpark.

Autism Travel Tips

If your child is noise sensitive ask to get a room away from the busy bar area , any staff service rooms and the ballpark since the walls are somewhat thin, and you can hear the commotion easily.
